Imagine if they had thought to make an 88 key fully weighted keybed, with aftertouch, full length ribbon controller, faders and knobs galore and on top of all of that perhaps a 9 inch flip up widescreen display, we can only dream.

I think despite how frustrating the idea of having a ton of synths that are fully featured but inaccessible is, i think there is definitely a market for a keyboard that is like those cheap yamaha keyboards that have all those kinda of presets but with actually amazing presets.

Does anyone have suggestions for a case for this?

So, can I just get someone to confirm that if I bought push 3 standalone...I could use my omnisphere/ keyscape VST with my midi keyboard the way I use it in Ableton? Is that correct? All VSTs can be used alongside push 3 standalone and a midi keyboard?

I probably missed it somewhere, but those two oscilloscope screens are fantastic. Are they available to buy? They make the process so much easier. Edit - ah! It was in the info section. I’ll definitely look that company up. Great video - my Gaia 2 is arriving in 12 hours time. My first hardware synth after decades of Vaz+, Vaz Modular etc. Had to subscribe - it’s so useful to see the instruments being used from a completely blank slate.

A laptop or even a MPC beats tf out of an Op 1 😂😂 But it does have the best portability

Great review/tut as always! I was skeptical about menu-diving and the dependence on the app; but just as a sound module this seemed like a great purchase. I now have this unit past 10 days and I can ASSURE YOU, this is as fun as it can get. The interface is VERY powerful and intuitive for everything that you would need to make music right out of the box (I made my first project within 30 minutes). I read NO manual to start. Of course, there are some shortcuts like how to start the metronome or check battery status that aren't obvious; but that much can be learnt or noted. App is a blessing, on top of the self contained box. TLDR - Anyone in two minds to get it - GET IT!!!!! Yamaha has got this right. (ONLY grip that it is flimsy for a portable device, but so are the competition TE products at a much higher price. Friend lost knobs and bent the fader on his new KO2 :p) I got a 3D printed case made for this and now I am taking this with me everywhere. Thank you for reading

I use this keyboard with the mood mother 32, but via the midi 5din plug I don’t have velocity. Is it normal? Should I have to setup something? Other synth u have works fine without do nothing. Thanks a lot

Does anyone know what type of plug-in those digital waveform meters are that show up throughout the video? (For example @ 2:40 mins) and if there is a physical version of this that we can hook up to our Moog as an additional piece of outboard gear??? They look really nice and I feel like it would be really helpful for learning and understanding how all the modulation affects the waveforms, and more exciting than just looking at a plugin on a computer :,)

Iv just bought the Edge and the Crave! Now I'm just waiting for the release of the Spice.

Another item on the wishlist would be the addition of a Noise Generator. Maybe with the combination of Shift + [?] knob. Also, does Sirin / Minitaur are velocity sensitive? I'm trying different bass synths these days and thought I found my candidate with the Erica Synths Bassline DB-01, but it doesn't react to velocity when playing with a midi keyboard controller.

I am trying to control my synth (volca bass) with a little Akai USB keyboard. The keyboard is connected via USB and the Volca is connected via USB to 5 DIN. I am still confused as to whether I need a host or interface! Any help you can offer would be great!

You can easily get someone to make a trs a to trs b cable, I buy cables made up to how I need them all the time just google a company that makes to order or ask a tech friend to make you one. Hundreds of different companies have trs cables wired differently for different PCs.

The point of DAWless is "I'm just having fun with toys, I'm not even considering this a 'sketchpad'" Otherwise you'd use the DAW, maybe with an MPC or Maschine if you like groovebox workflow. You would want to start with the sound you were going to use in the environment you were going to complete the production in. If traveling, you would take the laptop and a small keyboard or substantial groovebox like the Maschine. You probably won't use analog anything other than maybe a microphone. If playing live, if you have any sense at all you would mime to pre-recorded tracks rather than hope a MIDI sequencer doesn't fail in the middle of a song, otherwise you'd be actually playing the parts live on your Nord or MicroKorg etc. with the band. So a gadget like this is just for fun, you might fiddle with it a few times in a cafe or something but it won't attract mates, just nerds and thieves. In the hotel room, OK, but may as well just use an app and a small controller, as this will want not only the app and controller but this device as an awkward intermediary anyway. So I don't see any specific use for this, it's digital just like the app, the app is overall vastly easier to get around other than a handful of functions, if you really value hands-on you'd get a more substantial groovebox/keyboard, ... I mean these are cool toys, maybe with some unique sounds, but don't really make any practical sense and you have to love nerding out with them enough for the few times you'll actually use them. I congratulate the 3 or 4 people in all of history who actually did start a track on one of these small grooveboxes that people paid to hear later. Everyone else should get back to work, we have AI to compete with.

Have you considered the Circuit Tracks instead of the Launchpad? Pros include more knobs (to your point about maximum knobs) and a degree of fallback redundancy if the Maschine crashes. Cons, it's bigger and you'd probably have to put the H90 (or whatever) below it due to the cabling. It's slick how the Launchpad cable cozies in there. Lastly, if you were to swap out the Sirin and micro keys for some integral unit from your arsenal what would you pick?

I've been in software-development and IT for over 3 decades. I recently switched to MPC standalone to get away from the PC and be more focused on making music. It's really fun but I was not prepared for the avalanche of issues and bugs comming over me bringing 10000x more distraction and frustration than working on a PC. going back to Elektron boxes exactelly right now. 😢

The 1 major thing this keybed is still missing is the joystick that the triton and the M3 has. I am looking at this keyboard verse the KORG microstation, which actually has it, but not sure if it’s comparable with my iPads USB midi.
